Kids love picnics, I love picnics……fun fun fun.
Depending how elaborate you want to be but it is always fun to make it an outing.
I love grabbing the Skip Hop picnic , it doubles as a cooler but it is great for keep the bums off the grass ( not a fan of washing grass stains)
The reisenthel insulated carry all is a must. It can keep food warm or cold depending what you want. I once cooked corn, put butter on it and individually wrapped it in foil. Followed by rolling a few in the Pehr tea towel then left it in the insulate carry all. 2 hours later, the corn was still hot. In fact, too hot as the kids could not hold on to it. ( I put the tea towel around it, to keep heat but just in case the butter leaked out of the foil. Most of the time, I just keep yogurt, fresh sandwiches, salads with an ice pack.
Klean Kanteens. Because I like my beverages either really hot or cold, I prefer to bring it in the insulated KK too. ( Am I high maintenance?) Because we often go in a group and rather than loosing track of the bottles, I carry them in the Reisenthel bottle bag for organization.
For chips, popcorn…..RuMe bags
For apple slices ….Weancubes
Sporks are great – reduce waste as they are reusable but it is a 3 in one utensil so less to bring.
