HST Effective July 1, how does it impact online shoppers?

From our Bean counter Jenny:
Please note effective July 1, 2010
Ontario and British Columbia will harmonize it’s provincial sales tax with the Federal GST. That means there will be one single sales tax rate for Ontario and British Columbia which are 13% and 12% respectively. Also on July 1, Nova Scotia has increased it’s HST rate from 13% to 15%.
So what does all this mean for Gone Shopping customers?
Starting on July 1, 2010, orders shipped to an Ontario address will be charged 13% HST. Ontario orders consisting of children’s clothing will continue to be subject to GST only. Orders shipped to a British Columbia address will be charged 12% HST.
The following outlines the tax rates to be used in all other provinces and territories:
Orders shipped to Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Quebec, PEI, Nunavut, Yukon, and NWT – 5% GST
Nova Scotia – 15%
New Brunswick and Newfoundland – 13%
